چکیده
Purpose Climate-related disasters are the most representative in terms of recurrence and impacts. To reduce them, risk transfer is a key strategy for climate management. However, this approach does not consider socioeconomic vulnerability each population group, limiting its effectiveness. The objective paper to improve increase usefulness through Differential Risk Transfer (DRT) approach. Design/methodology/approach A comprehensive systematic review state art on Approach (DA) presented, connection with existing models analysed. Through epistemic deliberations, an operational definition (DRT), as well advantages discussed. Finally, general guidelines presented implementation DRT specific context. Findings results confirm that DA presents clear relation study disaster vulnerability. small group discussions agree improving climate-related Practical implications This argues inclusion management strategies aiming fill disaggregated data gaps limit potentiality accuracy schemes worldwide. Originality/value innovative improves mechanisms recognition differences ethnicity, gender life cycle disasters.

15 صفحه اولReducing hazard vulnerability: towards a common approach between disaster risk reduction and climate adaptation.
Over the past few decades, four distinct and largely independent research and policy communities--disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, environmental management and poverty reduction--have been actively engaged in reducing socio-economic vulnerability to natural hazards. However, despite the significant efforts of these communities, the vulnerability of many individuals and commun...
متن کاملReducing People’s Vulnerability to Natural Hazards Communities and Resilience
The concepts vulnerability, resilience and community are widely used and abused in the literature on natural hazards and disaster risk reduction. This paper seeks to bring greater rigour in their use. In particular, vulnerability must be understood as a set of socioeconomic conditions that are identifiable in relation to particular hazard risks, and therefore perform a predictive role that can ...
